Kate Boy to tout

Critically acclaimed electro-pop ensemble Kate Boy are set to embark on their first U.S. run beginning June 6 in New York City headlining Neon Gold’s Pop Shop. To celebrate the tour, the group will release a new song “The Way We Are,” with further details to be announced soon. See below for tour routing.

Northern Lights, the debut EP from Kate Boy (out now via IAMSOUND Records) has received high praise—Billboard explains it as “swoon-worthy” while V Magazine calls it “infectious.” The title track has already garnered the attention of NME, while The Fader hails the song as “emotionally honest.” The latest video for “In Your Eyes” is streaming at http://pitchfork.com/features/rising/9081-kate-boy/.

Kate Boy, comprised of Australian singer-songwriter Kate Akhurst (vocals) and Swedish musicians Hampus Nordgren, Oskar Engström, and Markus Dextegen, produced Northern Lights themselves. In addition to the title track, the EP includes a B-side, “In Your Eyes,” as well as two different remixes of the former. The first remix is a collaboration between Swedish solo act Taken By Trees and Los Angeles beat-maker Belief while the second is by the group Superhumanoids, also from Los Angeles.

Directed by the band, the video for the title track “Northern Lights” has received over 450,000 views. Full track listing below.
