PMCA seeks summer intern

Exhibition & Marketing Intern
(Getty Multicultural Undergraduate Summer Program Internship)

Description
Reporting to the Exhibition Manager & Registrar and the Marketing & Outreach Coordinator, the Exhibition & Marketing Intern will learn about the essential components involved in managing an exhibition, as well as educational programming. The intern’s duties and responsibilities will involve participating in the various stages of exhibition and program development, from research to planning and execution, for multiple upcoming exhibitions. The position will also entail the development and execution of marketing initiatives for both current and upcoming exhibitions. Responsibilities will include assisting in online (e-blasts, social media networks, blogs) and offline (print materials, event production) efforts.

Eligibility
• With the goal of increased diversity in the arts, this opportunity is intended for groups underrepresented in museum- and visual arts-related professions. Individuals of African-American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander descent are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduates, and have completed at least one semester of college by June 2013. Students graduating in Spring 2013 are also eligible. (Students who are enrolled in a second BA or BS program are not eligible.)
• Applicants must reside or attend college in Los Angeles County.

Experience/Knowledge
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite, familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (not required, but preferred), Mac savvy, detail-oriented, self-motivated, independent, excellent communication skills 

Terms 
Internships are full-time (40 hours/week) positions, with a salary of $3,500, for a consecutive ten-week work period between June and August, 2013.
