Various Cruelties tour select dates in U.S.

Various Cruelties will be headed back to this side of the pond for select U.S. dates later this month and in early May. Based off of the success of two sold out shows in NYC (The Studio at Webster Hall) and LA (Bootleg Bar) the band will play east and west coast dates including a show at The Echo in LA for Brit Week (www.britweek.org.) For a taste of what to expect from the band live, you can see Antiquiet's review from their February LA show here:

Various Cruelties self-titled debut album was released in the U.S. on April 26th and the band's first single If It Wasn't For You was featured in the ZALES holiday ad campaign (Previous campaigns featured The Black Keysand Alabama Shakes) garnering the track over 1.5 million Youtube hits and nearly 60k track downloads. The band also spent 2 months in the Itunes Top 20 singles chart and has gotten spins on Rodney Bingenheimer's KROQ show Rodney On The Roq as well as Jonsey's Jukebox. From the strong positive reaction to track in the ad, ZALES will be using an acoustic version of If It Wasn't For You in their Mothers Day campaign slated to run mid April to Mid May. The song fits this particular campaign perfectly as Liam O'Donnell wrote If It Wasn't For You about his mother:

"I think the track is possibly one of the most honest things I've ever written. I guess people can relate to the honesty, and maybe that's why it's been well received. The song is actually written about my mother. I didn't do it to be mushy or to get compliments. But she ain't around anymore, and rather than moan about my life like people on X-Factor seem to do every week, I thought I'd create a positive antidote to her. So, yes, the track felt good for that reason."

Various Cruelties cover of Ian Brown's F.E.A.R. is also being used in the trailer for the Cinemax showBanshee. You can check it out here:
