Wildcat! Wildcat! to tour

Critically acclaimed LA-based band Wildcat! Wildcat! continue to receive praise after making their SXSW debut, where they caught the attention of NPR Music, Daytrotter, Huffington Post and BuzzFeed who called them “one of the gems of this year.” The band is now set to embark on their first-ever solo tour beginning this May. In addition to these dates, the band will support both Portugal the Man and Alt-J throughout the spring. Tickets will go on sale Friday April 5: http://wildcatwildcat.com/events. See below for further details.

Neon Gold, the taste-making independent label who released Wildcat! Wildcat!'s latest 7" The Chief, notes that, “It was their Royal Tenenbaums-inspired calling card and flawless aesthetic that first caught our eye, but it wasn't long before the trio’s technicolor serendipity pop had us hook, line and sinker...Wildcat! create a bristling soundscape like no other.” The band, who are in the studio now, plan to release their debut EP this summer. Further details to come. The track “Please & Thank You” is streaming now at http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/14816-please-and-thank-you/.

The band is Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson and Jesse Carmichael. The trio played together in various incarnations before officially forming Wildcat! Wildcat! in 2012. The first two singles from the group have already garnered widespread praise with Buzz Bands L.A. admiring their “lush melodies, falsetto vocals, arching harmonies, all done produced with admirable restraint.”
