Boston, MA based pop-rock front man Chris Trapper of The Push Stars announces 17 city Fall 2007 solo tour. The tour begins on October 12 in Londonderry, NH at hipster venue Tupelo Music Hall and concludes with a hometown show in Boston at the historic Harvard Square mainstay, Brattle Theater. Chris will be on the road in continued support of his solo work.
His live show is a favorite among fans of indie alt-acoustic music. Chris' on-stage persona is warm and inclusive, his songs speak to the heart and to everyday experiences, and audience members particularly appreciate the lighthearted moments with the ukulele.
Chris Trapper, a prolific songwriter with a true love for touring, consistently delivers original,
fresh music for the smart-pop fan in all of us.
Original Chris Trapper tune "This Time" gets prominent placement in upcoming Robin Williams's film "August Rush". [Warner Bros] The film, starring Robin Williams, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Terrence Howard, is due in theaters on October 19 and tells the story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist and a sheltered young cellist, who have a chance and magical encounter one night in New York. Moviegoers will be introduced to Chris' songwriting as they listen to the films' star and main character -- Jonathan Rhys Meyers -- perform the acoustic guitar-driven ballad. Chris wrote "This Time" specifically for the film.
Recently, Chris wrote and recorded pop-lite mantra Long Hot Summer, an instantly memorable upbeat song, specifically for new TV show Sox Appeal. The reality/comedy series premiered Wednesday August 1, 2007 on New England Sports Network (NESN). "Sox Appeal" is touted as the Voice of the Red Sox Nation. Brought to television by Scout, the Emmy and Oscar winning team behind Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and written/directed by Ges Selmont in association with NESN.
Chris Trapper continues to tour in support of his third independent solo CD: "Hey, You". Inspired by his ever-growing collection of on-the-road mix tapes (Chris is fairly old school, he likes a good mix tape just as much as he likes his iPod) the words and music on "Hey, You" are an interesting blend of pop, rock, celtic and latin music with the ever-present under story of Chris' distinctive baritenor. Chris' musical expression puts him immediately into a group of recording artists known for their unique vocal styling and introspective songwriting (Rob Thomas, Better Than Ezra, The Replacements).
