DeVotchKa concert to be broadcast on NPR

National Public Radio’s acclaimed music program “All Songs Considered” will be at the DeVotchKa show on May 16th at the venerable 9:30 Club in Washington DC and will broadcast live from the concert.

DeVotchKa is also scheduled to perform on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” on May 19th. The appearance marks the Denver quartet’s U.S. late night television debut.

DeVotchKa, previously best-known for creating the score and soundtrack for 2006’s hit film Little Miss Sunshine, are currently riding high on the overwhelming praise for their latest, A Mad and Faithful Telling.

· “Cheerful, eclectic lunacy with a heart as big as the world” -Spin
· “It leaves you wondering whether to weep or dance” – Esquire
· “Aching, spacious and histrionic tunes” –Billboard
· “An essential and ethnically diverse album of universal allure” -Harp

After completing a trek across Europe that included an appearance on the BBC’s “Later…with Jools Holland,” DeVotchKa are set to take their beautifully enacted, emotionally stirring show on the road. The Mad and Faithful Tour kicked off on Saturday with a set at the famed Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival, and continues tonight in San Francisco.
