V-me to feature five new bands this month on weekly series

V-me, America's fastest growing Spanish network, rocks with the music of five new bands this month on its weekly series Sesiones con Alejandro Franco on Thursdays at 11:00pm (ET/PT).
Every Thursday in May internationally recognized recording artists Kaiser Chiefs, The Bravery, Porter, Fobia, Sussie 4 and Ely Guerra will be featured in a concerts recorded live at Mexico City's Salon Vive Cuervo.

May shows include:
• Kaiser Chiefs (May 1),
their debut, Employment, a must-have album of 2004, was nominated for the Mercury prize and established the band as one of the biggest names in British indie rock. Their most recent release, Yours Truly, Angry Mob was the band's first #1 album, driven by the hit single Ruby;
• The Bravery (May 1)
The Bravery's inaugural gig in Brooklyn, NY blew away the audience, and it became the "must-see" buzz band around town. Long before its self-titled debut album was released in 2005, the Bravery was famous for its buzz generating Brooklyn gigs, and was proclaimed the "Next Big Thing" by MTV, Rolling Stone, and The Village Voice. Their album The Sun and the Moon was released in 2007 and they present an excellent acoustic version on Sesiones;
• Porter (May 8)
Formed in 2004, they're already considered one of the most important bands in Mexico's new rock generation. Porter on Sesiones features music from their 2007 release Atomahawk;
• Fobia (May 15)
After playing together for 20 years, Fobia has become one of Mexico's rock legends. Electronic noise and smart lyrics are the hallmarks of a sound that has had a major influence on the current generation of Mexican bands;
• Sussie 4 (May22)
For ten years, the band has been experimenting with a fusion of indigenous and European cultures. Their elegant and ingenious mix of Latin rhythms with jazz and pop has earned them several indie awards;
• Ely Guerra (May 29)
A female pioneer of Mexican Rock, Ely Guerra has released four albums, sold millions, toured the world and placed songs on popular movie soundtracks.. Featured on Sesiones are hits from her album Sweet & Sour, Hot & Spicy.

Sesiones con Alejandro Franco, hosted by Rolling Stone and GQ magazine's Alejandro Franco, spotlights independent rock, pop and alternative acts spanning a range of genres.V-me is presented locally by public TV stations and carried on basic digital cable and digital broadcast in many cities and nationally on DIRECTV and DIRECTV Más channel 440, DISH Network Ch 9414 and DISHLatino Ch 846.
