Gospel Music Channel to launch Southern Gospel series

The heavenly harmonies of quartets will join Gospel Music Channel's primetime line-up Weds. Feb. 25 when America's only dedicated Gospel/Christian music television network (http://www.gospelmusicchannel.com) launches a new weekly series featuring exclusive new performances by the top names and future stars of Southern Gospel music.

Four: Southern Gospel's Best will be seen Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. after The Gaither Gospel Hour (9:00 p.m.). Brian Free (Brian Free & Assurance) hosts.

Performing artists featured include: The Dove Brothers Quartet, The Hoppers, The Kingdom Heirs, Brian Free & Assurance, Gold City, Greater Vision, The Isaacs, Karen Peck & New River, The Perrys, The Easters, The Kingsmen and many more. The series will also feature behind-the-scenes footage to provide a personal look at the lives of the quartet members.

Brian Free has been called "the most recognizable southern gospel tenor of our generation.” Since 1982, he has been at the forefront of Southern Gospel music since first joining Gold City Quartet, then moving on to form his own group, Assurance. Fans have voted him Favorite Male Singer (1987) and Favorite Tenor a record eight times throughout the years. He was also named Favorite Young Artist in 1989 and 1991. Brian Free & Assurance was voted Horizon Group in 1994, and their album 4 God So Loved was named Favorite Album in 1998. Brian Free & Assurance record for Daywind Music Group.
