La Quinta Resort launches jazz series

Legendary Desert Retreat to Spotlight Series of Noted Jazz Artists through November

WHAT: Cool grooves will envelope the warm desert air this Friday, October 1, when formidable jazz virtuosos Rick Braun and Michael Paulo join creative forces to kick off La Quinta Resort & Club’s jiving new series, “Grooves in the Grove.”

WHO: Trumpeter Rick Braun, a legend on the contemporary urban jazz scene, and Michael Paulo, an accomplished and versatile jazz and pop-oriented saxophonist, headline the first of La Quinta Resort & Club’s much-anticipated fall jazz series, which over eight weeks will spotlight some of the country’s most dynamic and acclaimed performing artists, representing a compelling array of jazz styles and genres, appealing to a diverse audience:

· Oct. 1: Michael Paulo with special guest Rick Braun
· Oct. 8: Marc Antoine & Paul Brown
· Oct. 15: Hiroshima
· Oct. 22: Brian Simpson & Jessy J
· Oct. 29: Gregg Karukas, Richard Smith & Brian Bromberg
· Nov. 5: Greg Adams & East Bay Soul
· Nov. 19: Jeff Lorber Fusion with Eric Marienthal
. Nov. 26: Patrice Rushen, Paul Jackson Jr. & Harvey Mason

WHEN: The series gets underway this Friday, Oct. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., and continues every Friday throughout November 26.
