Epic Records recording artist, NNEKA will be releasing her Heartbeat Remix EP on October 5, featuring five remixed tracks of the critically acclaimed single, as well as the LP version. Following her successful US debut album Concrete Jungle, the new EP features remixes by well known producers Chase & Status, Vinzz Le Normand and Koolkojak. Nas also appears on two tracks off the album, having recently wrapped the Distant Relatives Tour with Nneka this summer.
Described as “pure hotness” by Rolling Stone, Nneka’s "Heartbeat" single has been a smash both stateside and in Europe. Nneka performed the single on Late Show with David Letterman in February, then hit the road with Nas and Damian Marley as part of the nationwide Distant Relatives Tour. This summer also she performed at several Lilith Fair shows, Lollapalooza and solo dates nationwide.
This past July, Nneka was nominated for the 5th Annual Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA Awards) winning for Indigenous Artist of the Year award, making it her first NEA award. The NEA Awards are presented to African entertainers for outstanding achievements in Nigerian music, film, TV, comedy, fashion and radio.
Adding to the excitement of the NEA Nominations this summer, the BET Network handpicked Nneka to be featured in Music Matters Campaign, a multi-platform campaign focusing on introducing noteworthy music artists and highlighting the “next BET Superstars.” Nneka continues to be featured, as participating artists are showcased through music, blogs, music videos, photos and intimate interviews where they discuss their musical influence and explain why their music matters.
