Rocky Horror Picture Show celebration in LA Oct. 28 to benefit Painted Turtle

35 Years of The Rocky Horror Picture Show inspires a star-studded rock-of-all-ages tribute and Costume Ball, Thursday, October 28th at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, it was announced today. The Rocky Horror Picture Show Tribute is being produced by Lou Adler and Kevin Duncan and directed by Kenny Ortega. Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Billy Idol, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Jason Segel are among the talent already signed on for this one-night-only live event with other celebrated actors and singers to be announced shortly. The evening will benefit the Painted Turtle, one of Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camps.

“It is going to be a night out to remember for a very long time,” said Adler. “All of these amazing artists performing those classic songs plus a costume ball; but, most of all, it will benefit the special kids who attend the Painted Turtle Camp.”

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is hailed as the king of Midnight cult films and is in distribution longer than any film in the history of motion pictures. Adler, who is one of the original producers of the film and a founder of the Painted Turtle, will present a hybrid musical event combining the film version with select live musical performances from the film.

Since opening in 2004, the Painted Turtle has provided children throughout California who suffer from chronic and life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to rediscover the ordinary joys of being a child through a year-round camp and hospital outreach programs. To date, over 12,864 children and their families have been served by over 5,631 doctors, nurses and program volunteers. No child or family pays to attend camp.
