One-Eyed Doll has already become something of a punk-rock institution both in its native Austin and beyond. But, now, with the release of third album ‘Break’, it is ready to force its way into the mainstream in a big way.

Combining punk, metal and even Goth musical styles with an Alice in Wonderland-inspired sense of the theatrical, it is no surprise that the band has built up a huge cult following. With singer, songwriter and guitarist Kimberly Freeman at the helm and drummer Jason Rufuss Sewell (aka Junior) producing its unique sound, One-Eyed Doll has spent four years honing its craft.

‘Break’ is its chance to breakthrough. The dozen songs on the album perfectly showcase Kimberly’s incredible vocal stylings, virtuoso guitar skills and inventive, original songwriting.
What’s more, as befits a band that inspires almost religious devotion in its legion of fans, the band is allowing them to “name their own price” for its music – they can even choose to download it for free. ‘Break’ is available to download from the band’s website for an unspecified donation. It is the band’s way of giving something back to the fans that have made it such a stunning success over the years. It also fits with One-Eyed Doll's do-it-yourself attitude they release their music on their own label and even hand make their own merchandise.

From Kimberly’s self-styled dark anthems such as ‘Murder Ballad’ and the child abuse tale of ‘Cinder Block’ to the socially conscious protest of ‘New Orleans’ and the light-hearted tribute to fans ‘Beautiful Freak’, this collection of songs is as versatile and surprising as anything you’ll hear this year.

There is music here to suit the most hardcore fan, while some songs will slot perfectly into any radio playlists. It is that versatility that will see One-Eyed Doll become one of the musical phenomenons of the new decade.

In fact, it’s already happening. The band has won the best punk award at the internationally renowned SXSW festival for two years running and has already featured in Guitar World and Guitar Player magazines.

With Kimberly’s star quality already evident, an army of devoted fans and a growing number of powerful pop-metal tunes in its back pocket, there’s no reason this band can’t make it all the way to the top. ‘Break’ is set to be the first step on an exciting journey.
