The public is invited to help celebrate the completion of renovations to the Community Room at San Rafael Branch Library on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Tables and chairs have been replaced, new carpeting has been installed and walls have received a fresh coat of paint. This is the second phase of improvements to the library; the first was the installation of new landscaping last year.
Renovations have been funded by San Rafael Library Associates, a volunteer group founded by Pasadena City Councilman Steve Madison.
The celebration will include refreshments and the dedication of a water color painting in honor of Dorothy Lindsey, a long-time resident and SRLA member who passed away in 2009.
San Rafael Branch Library is at 1240 Nithsdale Rd. at Avenue 64. For more information call Dolores Carey-Diaz, president of SRLA, at (323) 256-4701 or Takako Suzuki, District 6 field representative, at (626) 744-4739.
