Wear Your Music offers rock star jewelry to help charity

Does the love of your life have a love for music? Does he or she have a favorite artist? If so, a Wear Your Music guitar string bracelet is a great way to express your love, while giving back to charity and the environment.

WEAR YOUR MUSIC is offering fans of everyone from Mick Mars and Nikki Six of Motley Crue to Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and James Hetfiled a chance to take home a piece of rock and roll history, while supporting charities such as the World Food Program USA, Unicef, and others.

The New York-based group creates 100% eco-friendly jewelry that rocks—literally, turning used guitar strings from artists spanning the musical spectrum into stylish bracelets, which are sold with a certificate of authenticity.

“These are strings that these musicians have used and would normally throw away,” says co-president and designer Hannah Garrison, “It’s great that we can recycle them and also offer people a chance to wear rock n roll on their wrists.”

In addition, the fine silver used on each bracelet is also 100% recycled, as is the DVD case each bracelet comes in.

One hundred percent of artist bracelet proceeds is donated to charities like Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation and the Grateful Dead-affiliated Rex Foundation.

The bangle-style bracelets, crafted from guitar strings donated by over 150 artists, include such rock luminaries Joan Jett and Peter Frampton, as well as members of Slightly Stoopid, Widespread Panic, Phish, The Allman Brothers Band, and String Cheese Incident. In addition, the likes of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer and Bonnie Raitt have also donated strings to WEAR YOUR MUSIC.

WEAR YOUR MUSIC also offers less expensive alternatives to the artist bracelets including the new RockRecycled Bracelets, hand-crafted from recycled guitar strings and silver. The unisex bangle style bracelet slips over the wrist, comes in small, medium and large, and is affordably priced at just $19.99.

Other gift options are the hip stackable Fashion Bracelets, favorites of A-Rod, Cameron Diaz, Jay Z, Rihanna and others, all seen donning the bracelets at the swanky Cosmopolitan New Years Eve party in Las Vegas. Priced at just $9.99, fashion bracelets are the perfect affordable gift and come in a variety of fun colors.
