Bands invited to compete in Hornitos' Mariachi Mashup

When Hornitos™ Tequila announced its new Mariachi Mash Up competition, who would have thought a legendary band would mash up one of its own songs! But just in time for Cinco de Mayo, popular rockers Cheap Trick’s Rob Zander, Rick Nielsen, and Tom Petersson redid their hit single “Surrender” – mariachi style. Tapping into the talents of a traditional mariachi band from south of the border, Cheap Trick added guitarrĂ³ns, trumpets and even a bit of Spanish lingo to create a brand new version of their first hit, over 30 years after it first topped the charts.
