Love Yourself women's expo May 22 in Norwalk

Get ready for an “afternoon to honor you” at 50/50 Leadership’s annual Love Yourself: A Woman’s Day Out expo. Love Yourself will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Sproul Reception Center (13000 Clarkdale Avenue, Norwalk, CA 90650). This educational and entertaining showcase features presentations by esteemed entities such as Wells Fargo Bank and highlights the unique items and resources of interest for women to better themselves professionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Hosted by 50/50 Leadership, the event will feature live entertainment, useful information and professional vendors offering attendees female-interest goods and services for an afternoon of educational indulgence.

One common thread among the vendors will be safety and participants will hear from such esteemed presenters like self-defense guru Ellen Snortland.

“I am on a life-long mission to educate women and girls on physical self-defense as a physical literacy issue, a domestic anti-terrorist measure, and a human right — a necessary ingredient in the quest for women’s liberation,” Love Yourself presenter Ellen Snortland wrote.

Admission to the expo is $10 at the door and giveaways will be provided to the first 50 registrants. Interested parties can register on-line and in advance of the event at www.5050leadership.org. Attendees will have an opportunity visit industry professionals that offer a plethora of products and services of a feminine nature. In addition to vendors, visitors will enjoying specialty goodie bags, raffles with door prizes, live entertainment, and featured guest speakers such as registered dietician Alicia Calvo, author Louise Cabral-Wyler, and bluefeet founder Lilli Cloud .

``It's really fun,'' said Alicia Calvo. ``It's great to meet the people and talk to them. Some of them have really good questions.''

Furthermore, the event will feature a live performance by “edu-tainment” group Caution E! (formerly the Safety Girls), music, crafts, jewelry and various vendors sponsoring holistic wellness information such as nutrition and massages.
