New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to be broadcast online

Every year the music world concentrates on New Orleans for two weeks in late April and early May. Every year there are many music lovers that can’t make it to New Orleans to experience 12 stages of music covering every genre from Funk to Latin to Soul and everything in between, plus all the art and food that New Orleans is well known for. We are very excited to announce that highlights from the 2011 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell will be broadcast on Rollingstone.com encoded and transmitted by iclips.net on May 7 and 8. Coverage will also be on the iclips.net homepage.

This year’s webcast will bring the festival to people’s homes across the country as Jimmy Buffett, Arcade Fire and Wilco will be positioned alongside the Neville Brothers, Irma Thomas and Galactic, among many others. Beginning at 6 p.m. CST on both May 7 and 8, the broadcast will include approximately 4 hours each night of performances, interviews, as well as a trip around the Fair Grounds to give viewers a glimpse at some of the elements that make Jazz Fest so special.

Other artists included in the webcast include Allen Toussaint, Cowboy Mouth, Better than Ezra, Marcia Ball, The Dixie Cups, George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners, Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars, the Soul Rebels, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, and many others.
