Correatown in LA today in support of EP and upcoming album

Los Angeles singer-songwriter, and guitarist Angela Correa
is the musical visionary behind the indie DIY group Correatown. On the heels
of the Etch The Line EP comes the full-length album Pleiades, due September
20, 2011 on Another Room Recordings, distributed via Junketboy.

Established in 2007, Correatown is fronted by Angela Correa (vocals, guitar)
whose music and voice can be heard in many films (she's the singing voice of
Jenna Fischer's character Darlene in the Sony Pictures film "Walk Hard: The
Dewey Cox Story" on the songs "Let's Duet") and television (most recently
backing vocals for Moby on The Tonight show). She's also one half of the duo
Les Shelley's with Tom Brousseau. As Correatown, Angela is joined by Mike
Corwin (guitar), Jenni Tarma (bass) and Rob Poynter (drums).

A stark contrast to her sparse acoustic, solo work, Correatown was initially
an amalgam of reverb-drenched guitars, lo-fi indie-pop, and early folk
melodies. On their upcoming recordings, the sound has evolved with growling
fuzzed out analog synths, beautiful harmonies, and sonic textures of washy
guitars. Throughout it all, it's Correa's dreamy vocals that's the defining
element, "Correa could sing the horoscopes and draw you
in..."-Popmatters.com

Correatown has spent the past year in the studio with producer Dan Long
(Film School, Henry Clay People) to create their second full-length release
Pleiades due September 20, 2011.

"I always want to evolve. When I began writing songs for our latest
recordings I kept imagining the sounds and instruments that would shape the
direction of the overall soundscape. The more we explored different
arrangements and instruments, the more I felt the possibility of having a
less organic sound as a more evocative creative compass, pushing sonic
boundaries," confesses Angela.

Prior to the release of Pleiades, Correatown released a six-song Limited
Edition 10 inch vinyl EP Etch The Line, on May 31st. The digital & vinyl
release features four tracks from Pleiades - "Further," "Everything, All At
Once," "Play," and "Shine Right Through" as well as two new remixed tracks.

"...sweet songs of love and longing that you want them to be the soundtrack
of all sublime moments of your life." - OC Weekly

BuzzBands LA describes as their sound as "...winsome, Americana-oriented
folk-pop suddenly elevated to the cumulus of dream-pop..."

A native of Yuba City, CA, Angela Correa began playing music in San Diego in
2002 where she debuted as a solo artist with Red Room Songs. Two full
releases and two EPs later, she relocated to Los Angeles, "You read it here
first Angela Correa who just moved here from San Diego, is going to be a
much-loved L.A. artist." (- LA Weekly)Correatown debuted in 2008 with Echoes
EP, followed by Spark. Burn. Fade. in 2009.

Correatown's songs have been licensed to film and television including
Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Betty and Brothers and Sisters.
In 2010, Correa also toured the UK, Europe and USA extensively as part of
her side project Les Shelleys with Tom Brosseau, promoting their FatCat
self-titled debut.
