Knott’s Berry Farm is proud to announce that it will be the site of the California State Final of the 30th Annual Texaco Country Showdown, America’s largest country music talent search on Saturday, August 20 at 7:00 pm.
Annually, over 450 radio stations across the country sponsor local contestants and winners advance to their state event where they compete for the opportunity to compete in one of five regional events. The 9 contestants at this year’s Texaco Country Showdown represent the winners from KRKC King City, KKGO Los Angeles, KUBB Merced, KNCQ Redding, KNTY Sacramento, KTRY/KZST Santa Rosa, KJDX Susanville, KJUG Visalia and KKCY Yuba City.
The winner of the Texaco Country Showdown will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the National Final in Nashville where they will compete for $100,000 and the coveted title of “Best New Act in Country Music.”
