The Digitour to return with YouTube stars in spring

“The Digitour,” A large-scale music tour featuring some of the biggest self-made YouTube stars is back for Spring 2012 and is sponsored by Neuro. This year’s stellar lineup includes the Internet’s most popular musicians and personalities who have a combined two billion views and 10 million subscribed fans. Commencing in Los Angeles on March 1, 2012, featured headliners Dave Days, Ricky Ficarelli, Alex Goot, Asher Monroe, Nice Peter, and The Key of Awesome will be hitting New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Houston, among other cities. VIP ticket packages go on sale December 19, 2011 exclusively on www.thedigitour.com and www.youtube.com/thedigitour just in time for the holidays.

Last year’s successful beginning broke new ground and made a mark in the entertainment industry by changing the traditional concert platform and launched solid brands that have the ability to bridge the gap of web and mainstream. Proof of this transformation is seen in the international acclaim and success of The Digitour alumni, who most recently swept the New Media category at the 2011 AMA’s with all three honorees having participated in last year’s DigiTour. These winners were Karmin, who also went on to sign a major recording contract with Epic Records, DeStorm, and Christina Grimmie who joined Selena Gomez on her “We Own the Night” tour after her run on the DigiTour.

DigiTour founders and producers Meridith Valiando, Chris Rojas, and Sarah Penna say “We have become the launching pad for self-made YouTube stars to take their shows on the road- we’ve created an institution to celebrate these web superstars annually and give their fanatic subscribers an opportunity to see their favorite YouTube stars live.”

“Neuro represents the lifestyle of innovation, creativity and social consciousness of the youth culture that celebrates online artists. We are proud to support the emerging talent on the DigiTour to promote the rise of a new generation of pop culture phenomenons,” said Diana Jenkins, CEO and Founder of Neuro.

In a review of last year's show, leading provider of online media and global technology Gigaom.com noted: "For artists best known for playing music by themselves for a web audience, they were all adept live performers who know how to work a crowd, It was a darn good concert…” Dallas Morning News reporter commented, “A pop-culture phenomenon made a full-circle voyage Friday night at the House of Blues: YouTube’s DigiTour came to town.” Additionally, The Business Insider stated, “The first show of the YouTube-sponsored DigiTour offered solid proof that musical talent translates from a web cam to a live venue.”
