He's My Brother She's My Sister to tour

Following a successful headlining tour across the United States last month, He's My Brother She's My Sister are happy to announce their Road To SXSW Tour. The eclectic Los Angeles band featuring sibling vocalists and a tap dancing drummer will return to the road beginning on Feb 28, with a series of shows straight up the west coast and across Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado before heading toward Austin for SXSW.

The band's 10 show trek to Austin will include shows in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland, all in the days leading up to their official showcase performance at this year's South By Southwest festival in Austin, TX on March 15. The band will be headlining 9 of the shows on the tour with main support provided by SXSW bound, Colorado-based, Bad Weather California and additional support from Australia's John Steel Singers, who will also be playing at SXSW. For a full list of tour dates, please see below.

While on tour this past January, the hard-working He's My Brother She's My Sister made a music video for a new recording of "Tales That I Tell" from the band's upcoming debut LP. The video recently premiered on the official SXSW Youtube channel. Watch the video at the link below:

In the past year, He's My Brother She's My Sister have played over 100 live performances, with capacity to near-capacity crowds in 16 major US cities, all climaxing this past January with a sell-out show at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, N.Y, the band's first ever headlining show in Brooklyn, 3000 miles from home!

He's My Brother She's My Sister's unique yet familiar sound exudes the earnestness of folk, the colorfulness of glam rock, the rawness of blues, the theatrics of cabaret, and the hip shake of rock-a-billy.

Brother and sister Robert Kolar and Rachel Kolar split vocal duties, with Robert on guitar and kick drum and Rachel on tambourine. Their voices range from boisterous to introspective, from breezy to emotive. Lauren Brown adds full-body percussion with her simultaneous drumming and tap-dancing. Oliver Newell plucks the stand up bass with joyous flair. Aaron Robinson plays lead guitar on a lap slide, veering from nuanced psychedelica to American roots riffs.

The band's infectious rhythms and high energy make the sounds come alive and cause even uninitiated crowds to erupt in dance.

They have toured the US extensively and have shared the stage with The Devil Makes Three, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zero's, The Blow, Spindrift, Miranda Lee Richards, The Growlers, Local Natives, Frank Fairfield, Tapes N' Tapes, Alexander, Dawes, Dr. Dog, My Morning Jacket, & many others.

The band's first full-length album will be released later in 2012.
