Drawing Us Together kids' art show in West Hollywood June 13

On June 13, as part of its Action for the Arts® initiative, the International House of Blues Foundation® (IHOBF) is inviting the public to attend the 2012 Drawing Us Together Visual Arts Exhibit/Competition, featuring original artworks by young and emerging artists, grades 6-12. Through their works, participating artists explored the 2012 exhibit/competition theme, The Arts Inspire Hope. This year’s exhibit will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at House of Blues-Sunset Strip (8430 Sunset Boulevard,West Hollywood, CA 90069) in the Foundation Room. There is no charge to attend the exhibit.

In creating their artworks, artists were encouraged to consider how music and other art forms inspire hope in challenging times and difficult circumstances. “Each contributing artist and artist group has expressed a unique visual representation of The Arts Inspire Hope theme, said IHOBF Program Manager Nazanin Fatemian. “The exhibit will showcase a tremendous amount of talent and creativity from our community’s young and emerging artists. We encourage the community to join us in supporting these young artists; it promises to be an inspirational exhibit.”

As part of Drawing Us Together, a panel of judges will select competition winners who will receive gift certificates for art supplies and will be recognized during the exhibit at House of Blues and on IHOBF’s websites. The Drawing Us Together exhibit will also be featured online at www.actionforthearts.org.
