Insomniac seeks dancers for Electric Daisy Carnival June 21-23

Insomniac is promoting the development of emerging dance music talent via their successful competition series, the Discovery Project, by accepting submissions from artists interested in playing at the 17th annual Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Las Vegas. The sold out festival will take place June 21, 22 and 23, 2013 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“Our fans are some of the most creative and talented people in the world and that’s why Insomniac created the Discovery Project – to allow undiscovered talent the opportunity to gain exposure at some of our premier festivals,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. “This is the second year theDiscovery Project is accepting submissions to play during EDC Las Vegas, and we’re really hoping to attract some original artists who aren’t afraid to take risks.”

Beginning in 2012 in conjunction with the Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas, theDiscovery Project provides emerging electronic dance music talent with the opportunity to gain exposure by offering them the chance to play at one of Insomniac’s music festivals. Winners for the EDC, Vegas competition will perform on June 21 and 22.

Up-and-coming DJs and producers should submit a their latest original track, as well as a 30-minute DJ mix that best represents their personal style and sound. Entrants must also fill out a manadatory entry form on the Discovery Project website. The competition is open to artists 18 and older.

Artists can upload their mix with the tag “Discovery Project: EDC Las Vegas” to MixCloud and the words “Discovery Project: EDC Las Vegas” somewhere in the title and must include competition artwork and an accurate track listing. Their original track can be submitted to the Insomniac Events SoundCloud drop box with the same title requirement.

Entrees must be received by June 2, 2013, at 11:59:59 p.m. PDT.

Judging for the contest will be done by a panel from the Discovery Project team and will focus on originality and technical ability. No amount of plays or favorites from fans is required. However, if two submissions receive equal scores from the Discovery Project judges, plays and favorites may play a role in the final selection. Participants are encouraged to promote their work through MixCloud, SoundCloud and personal social media platforms.

The competition is open globally; however, international winners will need to provide their own travel arrangements to reach the U.S. Insomniac will provide domestic flights only. Insomniac will also provide hotel accommodations for all winners (on the night of performance only).
