Ringo's Photograph book to publish

Genesis Publications and Ringo Starr proudly announce the upcoming release of PHOTOGRAPH, a collection of never-before-seen material, including photos taken by Ringo as well as exclusive images from his own personal archives. The material will first be published as an ebook, available exclusively on the iBookstore, on June 12 2013 in conjunction with the Grammy Museum Exhibit, “Ringo: Peace & Love”, where select images from the book will be displayed. A limited-edition hand-bound book, signed by Ringo Starr, will follow in December 2013.
An exclusive excerpt of PHOTOGRAPH appears in the June 10, 2013 issue of PEOPLE, the No. 1 celebrity magazine in the U.S.  The issue is available nationwide on newsstands (and on tablets) Friday, May 31
‘These are shots that no one else could have.’ – Ringo
Ringo shares forgotten photographs of his childhood home, family holidays and all-night parties on his road to stardom. He candidly captures his Beatles bandmates in pensive and playful moments: washing, eating, recording, smoking, drinking and playing monopoly. Pictures of ‘the boys’ are joined by Ringo’s travel photography, taking you inside the car with The Beatles as they toured the world. His photographs and stories portray four lads from Liverpool, trying to live normal lives amidst the frenzy that surrounded them.
‘A good time was had by all in those days.’ – Ringo

The digital book lifts the Genesis design off the page into an interactive format. Readers can pick up and zoom in on photographs as they scroll through Ringo’s memoir, while audio clips narrated by Ringo tell the previously unheard stories of the photos. Ringo tells tales of growing up in Liverpool and his time in hospital, where he played a drum for the first time. He remembers his first car, drum-kit, girls and bands, amidst the excitement of the emerging Merseybeat scene. Ringo has also filmed exclusive videos for this ebook, featuring interviews, music and animation.
‘I’ve got a lot of pictures in the ebook, a lot more in the real book and some in the exhibition in the Grammy Museum.’ – Ringo
Genesis have been making fine limited editions since 1974. On the eve of their 40th anniversary, Genesis are delighted to be making their very first ebook, especially with an author that is an integral part of their company history. Using Apple software to bring their designs into the digital dimension, the ebook was created exclusively for the iBookstore.
‘Genesis did a great job on my book POSTCARDS FROM THE BOYS – so why would I go anywhere else? I did my first book with the father and now my second with his son. – Ringo

The PHOTOGRAPH ebook will be followed with a traditional hand-crafted Genesis limited edition book, each copy signed by Ringo Starr. This will be an expansion of the ebook, with a wealth of new memorabilia, photographs and text taking you deeper into Ringo’s early life, his Beatle days and beyond. Hear about Ringo’s adventures, mishaps and movies, with appearances from an all-Starr cast of friends.
Combining traditional printing and craftsman bookbinding with innovative designs, Genesis books are designed to be treasured for a lifetime. This hand-bound volume will elevate the ebook to the next level. Ringo Starr will personally sign each of the 2,500 numbered books in the limited edition.
