Jo Dee Messina working on new album

JO DEE MESSINA has garnered a reputation for being fiercely independent, honest, determined and driven. The multi-platinum, award-winning country singer/songwriter is now paving a new path with her “My time. Our music.” campaign.

For the first time in her successful 18-year music career, JO DEE isfree to make the album she wants. While grateful for the support of her previous record label, she is looking ahead to this new chapter in her career and will release a new full-length album with the people’s help through Fans worldwide can be a part of the “My time. “Now that I have the ability to make any record I want, I’d like to take a different route,” JO DEE explains. “I want to give the public a chance to be heard. This time I want to make a record WITH you, in addition to making one FOR you. Kickstarter is the perfect platform. It allows me to change the way things have traditionally been done in my career for years. It’s totally exciting!”

JO DEE’s backers will be involved with every step that goes into creating and recording the album. They will be rewarded with exclusive content and one-of-a-kind opportunities. A $100,000 goal has been set to fund studio time, musicians, engineers, engineer assistants, production assistants, cartage, background vocalists, lead vocal recording days, overdubs, utility musicians, equipment rental, recording, mixing, mastering and more. In order to succeed, the goal must be reached within a 30-day period.

Additionally, JO DEE’s fans have been involved in the creative process by influencing which songs will make it on the album, via their input at live shows, Facebook/Twitter comments or Stageit reviews. Fans will also have the opportunity to vote on album artwork and even submit original pieces for consideration. The “My time. Our music.”campaign gives the public an authentic, first-hand glimpse into all that is involved with each step of releasing an album.

About Jo Dee Messina:Since breaking onto the music scene in 1996, the multi-platinum and award-winning country singer/songwriter JO DEE MESSINA has scored nine #1 country singles, sold over five million records, received two Grammy nominations and earned various CMA and ACM awards.  Her many hits include “Heads Carolina, Tails California,” “Bye Bye,” “I’m Alright,” “Stand Beside Me,” “That’s The Way” and “Bring On The Rain” (a duet with Tim McGraw).  Her self-titled 1996 debut album was certified Gold by the RIAA and featured the single "Heads Carolina, Tails California." With four huge radio hits, her second album I’m Alrightwas certified double platinum and she won the CMA's Horizon Award in 1999.
