This is our final California Scene Paintings program! Archivist and writer Morgan Yates examinesCalifornia Scene Paintings from 1930 to 1960 through one of its principal showcases, AAA's magazine Westways. Bring your mother along, and she'll get in for free!

Help the PMCA celebrate and support California musicians!

On June 1st, we're partnering with California's largest FREE music festival—for the first time AND as the only participating museum in Pasadena—to further promote California culture. Reaching beyond the visual arts to include music, we will showcase local bands at our venue from 12–5pm, offer discounted museum admission, and have food trucks and a beer garden available.

The PMCA needs your help! We recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to cover day-of rentals and services, including the stage and sound equipment. We've reached 21% of our $2,000 project goal, with 20 days to go. Please consider making a contribution and spreading the word—thank you in advance for supporting the arts and our community!

Some background on the festival:
Spanning 12 hours, 20 city blocks, and 100+ stages, this Pasadena-based music festival returns on Saturday, June 1, 2013. It features Grammy-award winning and platinum-recording artists, along with homegrown and emerging talent. Yearly, the event draws over 50,000 festival-goers and targets a multi-generational and culturally-diverse audience with a key target of ages 18–45-years-old.
