Project Angel Food Get Art event June 1 in Hollywood

With over 200 pieces of affordable art available for purchase, Project Angel Food's annual GET ART fundraising event has become a can't miss event for both experienced art collectors and new buyers.  This gallery-style event features art work from emerging and local artists who have generously donated their work to the non-profit organization.  All proceeds from the event go directly to support the life-sustaining work provided by Project Angel Food and its meal delivery program.  GET ART 2013 will take place from 7:00PM to 10:00PM on Saturday, June 1st at Siren@Orange Studio, 1050 N. Orange Drive. Hollywood, CA 90038.  Cost of single admission is $15 (includes two drink tickets).  Tickets may be purchased at the event or online at www.GetArt.org up until May 31st.

This year’s GET ART will celebrate Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory and will feature many types of art, both pop and not, from photography and paintings to mixed media and sculptures with pricing accessible to both beginning and seasoned art collectors.  One of the many highlights to be found at GET ART 2013 will be the searing portraits from renowned celebrity photographer Lionel Deluy featuring 50 Cent, Snoop Dog/Lion, Ice Cube and Damien Marley.  Other notable works that will be available for sale include “Marilyn Orange” by mixed media artist Leah Devora, “Eclectic Tomorrow” by artist Terri Berman, “Andy” from illustrator/artist Kirsten Ulve, “Charles Bukowski Woodcut Print” by woodcutter Loren Kantor and a collection of lifestyle portraits featuring celebrity couple “Barbie and Ken” attributed to “Barbie.”

Additionally the evening will feature live art experiences, music from DJ Paul V., drink specials and several fun surprises in keeping with this year's first-ever theme: Andy Warhol's Silver Factory. Although many of this year’s offerings will be thematic, there will also be affordable art that does not relate to the Pop Art theme.

Although the majority of the pieces for sale will range in price from $50 to approximately $500, there will be a few big ticket items of interest for seasoned collectors.  Art sales are based on a first-come, first-served basis on the night of the event. The GET ART series is a yearly event that showcases L.A.'s art talent while providing artists and buyers the experience of giving back to our community.

Up-to-date event announcements, participating artist information and a first-look gallery of art which will be on sale at the event can all be found at www.GetArt.org

For artists interested in donating to Project Angel Food, please be aware that the deadline for submission of all paperwork is May 10, 2013.  Donation requirements and paperwork can be found on the Get Art website.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer or a serious collector, GET READY, GET SET, GET ART!
