SXSW should be good for Northern Ireland music, there are so many good bands in Northern Ireland, the scene is thriving and hopefully some light from the wider world shall descend on here after this event!

You are sooo right. I think Northern Ireland has been overlooked as one of the top places for good bands today. I hope that SXSW provides some of them the opportunity to get the word out.

I am pleased you agree with my biased viewpiont of the Northern Ireland music scene. If you get a minute checkout new on the scene Belfast band "Jackson Cage" , they are an alternative to alternative, more of a throw back to the SoCal vibe of the early 70's!

Great tip! I visited the Jackson Cage site you indicated and - wow! - they're really good. I encourage everyone seeking a little something new that offers the classic cool of yesteryear to check out Jackson Cage. So when do we get to see them in person in the U.S.? Soon I hope!

Not sure when Jackson Cage will make it State Side, they are currently unsigned, so would need some light shed on their work. They can be found gigging in Belfast and around the city at moment, were a small fanbase who have seen them live is starting to form. They have an album thats almost finished, so I guess when that comes out, it will help raise their profile.
I would say playing some venues in Califronia would be something they would love to do though!
Who knows the way the wind blows! :-)
