Chickenfoot's album is almost here, see them on Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show

Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, and Van Halen front man and bassist Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony have formed a new band called Chickenfoot. Chickenfoot will make their first ever TV performing appearance during the first week of Conan O’Brien’s Tonight Show on Friday June 5th.

Following the Conan taping, Chickenfoot will autograph the band’s’ debut self-titled CD at an in-store appearance at the Best Buy Los Angeles store at 11301 W. Pico Blvd. for an hour beginning at 8 p.m. The release date for their debut self-titled CD has been moved to June 5th instead of the previously announced June 9th date.

Chickenfoot’s debut tour, which sold out in a matter of minutes, began last week and is receiving strong reviews. A couple of early examples are:

“The tracks are as driving as you’d expect given the group’s lineup and the fans ate up songs such as the bluesy, ‘Sexy Little Thing’ (‘She can drive and not get wasted/Stoner’s dream on a Friday night’), the rocking ‘Oh Yeah’ (‘When I was a young man I slept around/When I turned 30, I settled down’), and the grungy ‘Get It Up.’ All four musicians seemed to be having a blast…”
Rolling Stone, May 15, 2009

“Van Halen is back! Surprisingly Eddie and Alex are not in the band anymore. This is hands down better than anything Van Halen has produced in the past 20 years. Fresh, imaginative and energetic, this is a must have for fans of any of these musicians or their former bands.”
Bruce Owens, TMR Music Review, May 16, 2009

Chickenfoot’s self-titled debut is a hard rock album that sets the standard for rock music. “The album is an 11-song slab of raging rock,” says writer Joe Bosso of Guitar World magazine. Chickenfoot is produced by Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones) and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica). The new album will be released through major retailers and digitally on June 5th and is currently available for pre-sale through Best Buy at www.bestbuy.com/chickenfoot.

The band’s first single, “Oh Yeah,” has been embraced by radio. It is the #1 single on the Classic Rock charts and the #1 most added single in the mainstream rock charts. The #7 most added single on the active rock charts and the #5 most added on the rock charts which are a combination of active and mainstream rock panels. Keep an eye out for FMQB Productions’ radio special, inside Chickenfoot, which will air on radio stations nationwide on June 5th to 14.”
