Hillsong United releases new live CD and on tour

With U.S. sales topping 4 million, Sydney based Hillsong United return to the U.S. releasing their first new live CD in 3 years Across The Earth: Tear Down The Walls today, May 26, 2009, via Integrity Music.

Across The Earth: Tear Down The Walls is United’s first new live CD since 2006. The CD features 12 tracks, including 11 new songs of Hillsong United’s signature power pop/rock brand of worship. Across The Earth: Tear Down The Walls was produced by the Hillsong Church team of Michael Guy Chislett, Andrew Crawford and Joel Houston.

Hillsong, whose “Mighty To Save” won Worship Song of the Year at the 40th Annual Dove Awards have been on tour in the U.S since early April. The band’s stops included a sold out appearance at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Upcoming tour dates include:

Their song “Shout To The Lord” has become one of their best selling songs of all time, since first recorded by Hillsong worship leader Darlene Zschech. The song was performed, by the top 8, on Season 7 of American Idol and was brought back on the show for a repeat performance on the Idol Gives Back special. Hillsong Television is seen in over 160 countries and the Hillsong International Leadership College is attended by over 900 students from around the globe.
