Burns & Poe make video with Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders

Burns & Poe, country music’s contending champion duo, headed to the Lonestar State to show their spirit to film the music video for the “Cowboy Stomp,”* a track dubbed as the Dallas Cowboys’ 2009 season theme song. The pair (Keith Burns/Michelle Poe), along with Cowboy Troy and the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, taped the anthem on Monday, November 16, inside the newly built Cowboys Stadium.

Written by Burns and Mark Oliverius, Cowboy Troy lends his vocals to rap on the rowdy number, accompanied by Burns & Poe; Michelle Poe channels Bonnie Raitt’s soulful vocals in the background while Keith Burns demonstrates his masterful guitar skills.

Since being selected as the theme song, “Cowboy Stomp” has been played in the Cowboys Stadium throughout the 2009 season; the video (produced by Banshee Music) is set to broadcast on the stadium’s jumbotron, the largest in the world with a screen measuring 180 feet wide, 71 feet tall.

“This was a two-fold ‘event’ for us; to be invited to the Cowboys Stadium to film their anthem and to be surrounded by all those beautiful cheerleaders—all on my birthday. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it! ...’Don’t Get No Better Than That,’” said Burns who celebrated his birthday on Monday.

The legendary Dallas Cowboys are tied at second among all NFL franchises in Super Bowl victories, first in Super Bowl appearances and are the only NFL team to record 20 consecutive winning seasons (from 1966 to1985). The new Cowboys Stadium, built just in time for the 2009 season, seats up to 100,000 fans and is the largest domed stadium in the world. The “making of” video (as filmed in the recording studio) can be seen by visiting

The song and corresponding music video follows on the heels of the pair’s first single release since signing with Blue Steel Records last month; “Don’t Get No Better Than That” (also a Burns/Oliverius co-write) is heading up the charts solidifying Burns & Poe as artists positioned to make a name for themselves as “Duo Of The Year” in 2010. Their full-length album will be released in the spring. More information about Burns & Poe is available at: http://www.myspace.com/burnsandpoe.
