Jason Derulo on "Ellen" Thursday

Red-hot pop sensation Jason Derulo — the first artist signed to Warner Bros. Records’ joint venture with multi-platinum songwriter and producer J.R. Rotem’s label Beluga Heights — releases his eagerly anticipated self-titled debut album on Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records today. Derulo wrote or co-wrote each track on the album, which was produced by Rotem, who has also worked with Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Rick Ross, and many others.

Derulo was named an "Introducing..." artist by MySpace Music, which launched in mid-January with the video premiere for Derulo’s current single, “In My Head.” The track quickly climbed to No. 1 on the site. The “Introducing” program also included the airing of “Walk of Fame,” a five-part web series that documents Derulo’s life and rise to fame. “Introducing” culminates on March 3rd with the end of an exclusive “listening party” that enables fans to stream the album in its entirety, as well as the “Walk of Fame” finale.

Derulo has already seen his star ascend with the blockbuster success of “Whatcha Say,” which quickly climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Rhythmic, and Pop charts and remained atop the Pop chart for four consecutive weeks, making Derulo one of two new artists who debuted in 2009 to go to No. 1 at all three formats with a debut single. “Whatcha Say,” which climbed to No. 2 on the iTunes singles chart, has sold four million copies worldwide, including three million in the U.S., and has been certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Derulo’s second single, the million-selling “In My Head,” is moving even faster at radio with more than 160 Pop and Rhythm stations on board and is Top 10 on the Pop chart. The accompanying video, among YouTube’s most-viewed music clips, is in rotation on MTV’s “AMTV” and “Credit Squeeze” rotation, MTV Hits, TeenNick, and Music Choice.

Catch Derulo performing “In My Head” on Ellen on March 4th.
