Pianist/composer John Beasley to offer jazz master class and concert

Being an artist is also being a teacher. John Beasley, former keyboard player for Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Steely Dan, Christian McBride, and Dianne Reeves, presents a unique interactive master class in an intimate environment at Vitello’s Jazz & Super Club where John will share how he thinks and performs, along with a focus on:

· Your role in the rhythm section: playing in the “pocket” and comping;

· Phrasing, form, keeping the blues in your playing using 21st C contemporary harmony;

· Playing fast with high energy levels but in a relaxed manner; and

· Practicing techniques
