Anthony Kearns benefit concert in Long Beach Sept. 26

‘Irish Tenor’ Anthony Kearns is coming to the Long Beach Center Theater to perform a benefit concert in support of the educational programs of The Wexford Institute on Sunday, September 26th, at 7:00 pm. The performance is a production of Wexford Institute.

Kearns is most notably known as a member of the successful trio, The Irish Tenors, performing to sold-out audiences around the world. His eclectic repertoire includes traditional Irish music, light and humorous operatic pieces, and show tunes. He began singing as a youth in Ireland and has drawn upon the great music of his homeland, the richness of its history, and has honed it into his solo concerts, making his performances the quintessential celebration of Irish culture and heritage.

In addition to performing traditional Irish music, Kearns has also had the opportunity to explore his great passion for performing operatically. He has performed the lead in The Irish Ring, a compilation of three Irish operas, the lead in Verdi’s Falstaff, and sang Faust for Opera Ireland. His solo concerts hold great appeal for audiences of varied ages.

Wexford Institute is a non-profit educational agency located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
As a non-profit agency, Wexford Institute conducts research and planning and provides professional development, family education and student programs to improve student learning.

Some of Wexford’s programs focus on professional development and family education to support children with autism. Although there is funding available to identify the causes and cures for autism, there is almost no funding available to support teacher and family programs to help them educate and nurture children with autism.

“Anthony Kearns is singing on behalf of a fantastic cause and Long Beach looks forward to hosting this tremendous musical talent at the Center Theater,” said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
