Descanso Gardens to offer holiday classes and activities

Sunday, Dec. 5, Wreath Making, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Descanso’s Rachel Young shows you how to turn natural materials into beautiful holiday décor. Class meets in Van de Kamp Hall as part of the Gifts and Greens boutique event. Two sessions. Space is limited. The class is open to Descanso members only.
Cost: $30, includes materials.

Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4-5, Gifts and Greens, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Purchase beautiful botanical decor and handcrafted gift items at this annual boutique in Van de Kamp Hall. The wreath-making classes, priced separately, are part of this event.
Free with Gardens admission: $8 adults, $6 seniors/students and $3 children 5-12

Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 11-12, Botanic Bling, call for hours
Find the perfect gift for that special someone at this trunk show of plant-inspired jewelry and accessories from a diverse collection of independent vendors and craftspeople. Browse among fine and fashionable pieces, many handmade, just in time for the holidays. In the Boddy House.
Free with Gardens admission: $8 adults, $6 seniors/students and $3 children 5-12

Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 11-12, Santa’s Brunch, 9:30 and 11 a.m.
Enjoy a visit with the man in red and a gourmet breakfast created by the chefs of Patina Catering. Bring a camera: Santa will be available for photos as well. Two seatings both days. In Van de Kamp Hall. Call for prices. Information/reservations at Patina Catering, (818) 790-3663

About Descanso Gardens: Established as a public garden in 1954, Descanso Gardens is locate at 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, near the interchange of the 2 and 210 freeways. The Gardens are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Christmas Day. Parking is free. Admission fees are $8 for adults; $6 for seniors and students; $3 for children 5 to 12, and free for members and children 4 and younger. Fees for classes and programs include Gardens admission.
