Harvey Danger releases final single

"The Show Must Not Go On," the posthumous final single by Seattle band Harvey Danger, is now available for download at www.harveydanger.com/downloads.

"Show" was written for Harvey Danger's brief farewell tour last fall and recorded by John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Los Campesinos, all three HD LPs) a short time later, then mixed and mastered last week, in time for the first anniversary of the band's final show.

This weekend also marks the 10th anniversary of the release of HD's commercial fall from grace album, King James Version (London-Sire), available on iTunes.

There is no real agenda here, no reunion in the offing, no expectation that Harvey Danger will be remembered by most of the world for much more than its one hit song from 12 years ago (which reportedly wound up on some recent Pitchfork list about something, and will soon renew its lease as the theme song for the eighth series of the brilliant UK sitcom Peep Show). However, "The Show Must Not Go On," whose lyrics directly address the ways and means of breakups, is a fine song whose recording turned out better than anyone expected, and in keeping with the band's infallible commercial instincts, this seemed as good a time as any to let it be heard.

Also available on the band's download page www.harveydanger.com/downloads, in case one song simply isn't enough, is the 2006 LP Little By Little, and Dead Sea Scrolls, a brand new 15-track b-sides/rarities collection.
