Jack Phillips is an artist who just gets better and better. He has been creating warm, heartfelt rock and pop music for most of his life. And his long musical journey has now seen him create a truly memorable record in the form of second album ‘To Whom It May Concern’.

To celebrate the launch of an album which, even before its release, has been generating its fair share of buzz, Jack will perform two very special New York shows.

The shows at The Metropolitan Room on Friday September 10th and Sunday September 12th are the fulfillment of Jack’s long-held ambition to perform on the Big Apple stage. And New York will be thankful that this unique singer-songwriter has finally landed at one of rock’n’roll’s iconic venues. And he’s landed with a record in tow that is as fresh and uplifting as anything he has produced since he started making music back in 1980.

During the 1980s, Jack was a regular performer in his hometown of Fresno and penned a number of original numbers that achieved a good deal of local success.

He spent almost ten years making his first album – ‘Revival Time’ – while also working in a San Francisco piano bar. That 1999 record earned Jack much critical praise.

But this follow-up – another decade in the making for an artist who likes to do things properly – is an even more mature, wise and musically astute record.

It is a culmination of everything that has kept Jack in the music business so long. And with top performers such as keyboardist Jason Wynn, guitarist Sean Harknesss and drummer David Silliman, among others, the line-up for the launch party is a stellar one.

The Jack Phillips sound is as warm and familiar as an old friend, but the new album is still home to some of the freshest writing you’re likely to hear.

Lead single ‘Winter Keeps Us Warm’ has already been named as Iman Labadebi’s top track on rock nyc, while other tunes such as the title track and the heart-worn “I Can’t See” demonstrate Jack’s never-ending versatility as musician and performer.

As an album, ‘To Whom It May Concern’ is as mature, honest and well-crafted a piece of music as you are likely to hear for a very long time.

After years of honing his skills, Jack Phillips has finally landed in the big time. The New York shows will be very special indeed – do not miss them.
