Lineage Dance performance for One in Eight and From an Arm's Length in Pasadena in October

Healing Blue first premiered in 2005 at the Pasadena Civic to raise money for the Constance G. Zahorik Breast Center at Huntington and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. They were able to raise $28,000 during that concert which to this day is the most successful Lineage Event they have had! Since then they have done the show to raise funds for cancer centers in Houston (MD Anderson), Missoula, Seattle, Boston (Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital), and many other cities across the country.

Healing Blue features the stories of women who have battled breast cancer and the dances that have been inspired by their words. As they continue to perform the show, they meet more people whose stories they want to share. The show continues to evolve.

LINEAGE will dedicate the weekend of performances on October 15, 16 and 17 to creating support and awareness for ONE in eight and From An Arm's Length www.fromanarmslength.com.

ONE in eight will have all Pasadena Portraits on display throughout the weekend of performances. LINEAGE will be showing a four minute version of Pulitzer prize-winning LA Times photojournalist Annie Well's documentary during the concert. It will also feature a segment on surf champion Rell Sunn who inspired the project seven years ago.

LINEAGE DANCE and ONE in eight are both members of the EMERGE Fiscal Sponsorship Program of Pasadena Arts Council.

Any woman who has experienced a diagnosis of breast cancer is invited to come and pay what they can at the door.
