"Metal Revolution for Iran" in Studio City Tuesday

On Tuesday, September 21st Metal Sanaz, will host “Metal Revolution for Iran” (MRI), a politically charged concert to protest the visit of Islamic Republic of Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to New York and to show support for democracy, human rights and regime change in Iran. The concert will be held at Aura Night Club (12215 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City, CA 91604) and is free of charge. Doors open at 6:30 pm and show begins at 7:00 pm. The concert will be streamed LIVE in Iran to allow the many fans of Metal Music to enjoy this "forbidden Satanic music"- as the ayatollahs describe it. Scheduled to perform are Dave Lombardo of Slayer, Neil Turben of Anthrax, JETBOY and many others. All artists will play to show their support and solidarity for the people of Iran.

Most western music has been banned from Iran since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979. For many years following the revolution, confiscated musical instruments were introduced as incriminating evidence in revolutionary courts to condemn everyone who was destined for imprisonment or execution. In this repressive atmosphere the youth of Iran have been displaying amazing zeal in espousing and performing Western music and in particular, heavy metal. The Iranian youth, risking prison and torture, roam the Internet and hold illegal concerts, knowing that their fun is not going to last long when they’re surrounded by the Islamic Militia and branded as Devil Worshippers. In the last two years, more than 400 heavy metal fans and musicians have been arrested in publicized cases.

The brutal and ruthless regime in Iran is also aspiring to achieve nuclear capability, thus, presenting a threat not only to Iranian people but to the entire world. The MRI concert aims not only to express support and solidarity with the people, and especially the youth of Iran, but also to highlight the danger that can develop from a religious dictatorship possessing nuclear weapons.

Millions of Heavy Metal fans in Iran who live their freedom on the internet and within the walls of their short lived concert farms will now scream with their strings and their voices: Free Occupied Iran or Face the Millions!
