Blackstrobe Records proudly presents Arnaud Rebotini’s second artist album Someone Gave Me Religion. It’s an epic journey through electronic music that was created entirely on classic analog gear and designed to be performed live. Crafted with such legendary machines as the TR-808, SH-101, TR-909, TB-303 and Juno 60 - all instruments that have earned their place in the old school techno all of fame - Rebotini has created an album and live show the level of what’s rarely seen anymore in dance music.

From the very start, track one “The First Thirteen Minutes Of Love” opens the album with over ten minutes of ambient unlike anything you've heard in years, a long, elegiac composition somewhere between Carl Craig and the chill-out zone at a bygone rave. It's a warning: take a deep breath before being swept away by eight tracks that span Detroit and Berlin, Front 242 and Carl Craig, linking them via soaring trance, carefully-crafted minimal, the sound of the 90s, the sound of the new millennium. It's hard to imagine the strike force and heart pangs it will inevitably inflict on any club in the know.

Since forming Black Strobe with Ivan Smagghe in 1997 Rebotini has been one of the leading figures on the French electronic music scene. The band’s early releases, on labels such as Output, pioneered a brand new sound that married the throbbing pulse of acid house with the cold dark sound of new beat and industrial music. Dubbing this sound ‘frozen Balearic gay biker house’ Rebotini became one of the most in demand producers of the past decade, with remix credits for acts such as Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, Playgroup and Royksopp, and critically lauded solo releases on Vitalic’s Citizen Records.

Already lined up for release on Black Strobe Records this year is the new solo album from Rebotini (and accompanying singles listed below), a limited 500-piece vinyl only re-release of his acclaimed debut album Music Components Vol 1, the re-release of the classic Italian Fireflies with brand new remixes, a new Black Strobe EP and a Best of Black Strobe album, bringing together over 13 years of releases.
