The Asteroids Galaxy Tour in LA Oct. 7 and 9

Denmark’s finest, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour are happy to announce their live return to America in October, with stops in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles for Filter’s Culture Collide Festival. The tour comes on the back of the release of The Golden Age EP, featuring brand new tracks like “Fantasy Friend Forever”, “Runner” and “One Giant Freak For Mankind,” and a cover “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats. To thank the fans, the band is making a special elecoustic version of their hit "The Golden Age" available for free HERE. Headed by the singer Mette Lindberg and Lars Iversen, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour will be heading off on the road with their band of trusted companions, performing a versatile, instrument-swaping set that’s received international praise. Along the way, the band garnered coveted support slots opening for the likes of Amy Winehouse and Katy Perry, as well as headlining their own tours in Europe. And this summer, the band will be making their way back to America (live dates below).

Earlier this year, their latest single “The Golden Age” was picked up by a global ad for Heineken called “'The Entrance,” which has already had over 4 million hits on YouTube. The band’s extended cut of the video has reached about 2.5 million hits. Heineken's The Entrance TV commercial won a Golden Lion at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival (IAF).

The seeds of TAGT were sown in a Danish small town in the late ’90s when Lars Iversen launched his career as a jazz pianist when he was only a teen. After discovering David Bowie, he turned a corner, incorporating rock ’n’ roll into his repertoire. In his tiny apartment, Lars and his brother built their own studio and began experimenting, making beats and loops, cutting and sampling, learning the basic recording skills that way. Around this time, Lars crossed paths with Mette Lindberg, who he dubbed “the coolest singer in Copenhagen.” From there The Asteroids Galaxy Tour was born.

In 2008, the band reached instant global exposure when their song “Around The Bend” was featured in an Apple iPod Touch advertisement. Their music has also appeared in Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries and CSI Miami. “Around The Bend” was also one of the key tracks to the R.J. Cuttler documentary "The September Issue", based on Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
