My Son the Bum releases new album

MY SON THE BUM is the brainchild of guitarist and uber prolific songwriter BRIAN KROLL. The group is a very unique concept indeed: some of the musicians in the band have never even met the other members! Hence, there have never been any live performances by the rock quartet. But that hasn't hindered them from garnering international recognition: to date, MY SON THE BUM has received radio airplay and reviewers' accolades from Australia, the Netherlands, Asia, South America, Europe, the UK and the Middle East. Yes, the Internet is their good friend.

KROLL, who resides on Long Island, NY, isn't bothered by the fact that his outfit has neither record label nor management, and at this stage, a booking agent is clearly unnecessary. However, he is always plotting ways to make a live version of the band a reality. Still, that hasn't stopped KROLL continually recording and releasing albums chock full of new songs.

"Flipside of a Fairytale" is the fifth effort by MY SON THE BUM. It is as eclectic in sound as are their previous releases. Covering a wide spectrum of styles is a KROLL trademark and leads to his dubbing his music "Futuristic classic rock." Depending on the track, you can hear heavy rock ("Money Is The Whip"), classic metal ("Cerebrum"), psychedelic rock ("Vicious Vicarious"), pop ("Speed Chase Towards The Grave") and rockabilly ("Wig City"), all composed with the same fine craftsmanship that KROLL brings to all his work. How can one artist master so many different kinds of music?

"My mind is always filled with new songs and I crave to get them out of my head, go into the studio to record them, and send them out into the ether as soon as I possibly can," he says.

Sharing is caring...so much so that all the tracks from previous releases are available for free download on the band's website: www.mysonthebum.com.

The band features drummer John O.Reilly (from PA), vocalist Ronnie Dee (from FL) and guitarist/ bassist Bob Stander (from NY), who also served as production wizard on the disc, along side KROLL. All music and lyrics are by KROLL. The CD is being released June 19th on his own Wig City Records and will be available for purchase on CDbaby.com, iTunes and Amazon.com.
