With still nearly two weeks before release date, the music world is already abuzz about TALON OF THE HAWK, the brand new album by THE FRONT BOTTOMS. Coming out on May 21, 2013 via Bar/None Records, the New Jersey-based band’s second effort been deemed“Most Anticipated Album of 2013” by numerous outlets including Alternative Press, Under the Gun Review, Absolutepunk, PropertyOfZack, PupFresh, The Underground Noise, Sound In The Signal, among dozens of others. Coinciding with the imminent release of their album, they have announced an eight-week tour, starting triumphantly with two back-to-back, sold-out shows at Hoboken’s Maxwell’s – the club where it all began.
Kicking off the countdown to its release, American Songwriter premiered “Twin Size Mattress,” the first song released off the album, saying it “expands the band’s approach while leaving their core ingredients — a poppy sense of melody, a comical delivery, a bleeding heart — intact… Looks like thisHawk is gonna have some serious claws” (http://tinyurl.com/TFB- AmerSong). The accompanying video racked up over 80,000 views in just 20 days. Bestowing the album with a stellar four star review, Alternative Press proclaimed, "The Front Bottoms will soundtrack your life until it's like you've never been without them." Not to be undone, BrooklynVegan made a huge splash last week with the premiere and free download of the new single, “Skeleton” calling it “one of the more power pop cuts from the album, and like the last single, its biggest strengths are in the conversational lyrics” (http://tinyurl.com/TFB-BV). Altpress.com is exclusively premiering the accompanying video to "Skeleton" today and can be viewed here:

It’s safe to say that The Front Bottoms’ unique brand of quirky alt-pop has kept the music world transfixed since their genesis a few years ago. Their self-titled debut still ranks as one of the most positively-reviewed albums of the last two years, garnering major attention from LA Times, NPR, MTV, Huffington Post, Filter, DRUM,Aquarian Weekly, AOL, etc., propelling the band to tour with Bad Books, Say Anything, Newfound Glory, among others. In their recent review, FakeWalls sums up exactly the appeal to the band’s music with, “This is the kind of record that the indie-punk scene needs right now. Hell, this is the kind of album that could touch anyone regardless of whatever music scene they claim.”
The Front Bottoms is Brian Sella (vocals/guitar), Mathew Uychich (drums), Tom Warren (bass), andCiaran O'Donnel (keys/trumpet/guitar). Talon of the Hawk will be released on Bar/None Records on May 21, 2013.
