Souhail received his degree from the Conservatory of Arabic Music & Performance in Aleppo, Syria.
His professional career spans over 35 years and he can be heard on many recordings for superstar
Arabic singers and orchestras. Additionally he has played for Egypts top dance superstars.
Included in his vast body of work are engagements and tours with Sting, Kronos Quartet, Kenny Burrell, Dr.
Jihad Racy as well as special cultural recordings for the Smithsonian Institute and many documentaries
and movie sound tracks.
He teaches worldwide at universities, colleges, special seminars and the Middle East Music & Dance Camp in
Mendocino, CA.
