Action rock group Monty Are I adds another major touring notch to their dossier when they head out for a month of dates with Island Records group Sum 41 and Seattle-based Amber Pacific. The coast-to-coast tour which adds multi-platinum Warped Tour band Yellowcard for the first seven shows opens September 8th at the Station in Portland, Maine, and ends October 7th at Big Easy in Boise, Idaho. (Please see dates below.)
Monty Are Is trio of websites www.montyarei.com, www.myspace.com/montyarei, and www.montyarei.buzznet.com recently premiered their homemade d.i.y. video Between The Sheets, the first single from their debut album WALL OF PEOPLE (Stolen Transmission Records). The video was a labor of love that was produced and directed and shot by the band and a crew of friends at various locations around their home turfs of Providence, Rhode Island (including the Living Room and a public ice skating rink) and Cranston (including Millers Crossing and family restaurant Café Luna), as well as other locales.
The entire Between The Sheets video (which can also be viewed on YouTube) was edited by drummer Justin Muir on his laptop using the Final Cut Pro program. With extremely limited amounts of time, money, and resources we managed to accomplish something were really proud of, blogged keyboardist Andrew Borstein. And now were excited to finally show the whole world. Visitors to the bands MySpace site can also check out the album tracks Between The Sheets, Dublin Waltz, In This Legacy, Castle Bound, and the Kasslebownd Remix (which have logged over 940,000 total plays to date).
WALL OF PEOPLE was recorded with producer/engineer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Permanent Me, Cute Is What We Aim For, Boys Like Girls), with producer/engineers Mitch Allan and Gavin Castleton. In addition to five newly recorded tracks, the album includes six tracks remixed by Squire from the bands self-financed indie EP The Red Shift.
Monty Are I Steve Aiello (vocals, lead guitar), Mike Matarese (bass), Andrew Borstein (keyboards, synthesizer, trombone, sequencing), and identical twins Justin (drums) and Ryan Muir (vocals, trumpet, guitar) commandeered the Ernie Ball Stage once again for their fourth consecutive Vans Warped Tour this summer, their second Vans Warped Tour since the August 2006 release of WALL OF PEOPLE.
Prior to the Vans Warped Tour, Monty Are I were one of five bands invited to Punk The Clock on The May-June Audition Spring Tour 2007, a 6-week, 36-city North American schedule also starring My American Heart, The Graduate, 1997, and New Atlantic. The Audition Tour followed nearly a half-year of constant road work. Highlights included a month of shows during January and February, first on a package with Over It, The Summer Obsession, and Last Conservative; and then with Over It, Last Conservative, and Dear and the Headlights. Back in November-December, they headed out on the Purevolume Sponsored Tour with fellow Stolen Transmission band Permanent Me, Dropping Daylight, Summer Obsession, and the Outline.
Monty Are I is blessed with a dedicated Street Team of over 1,400 members spread worldwide from New England to Australia, plus friends theyve made on myspace.com, and visitors to their own website (montyarei.com). Monty Are I now stand ready to take their exhilarating action rock Bigger! Faster! More! straight to the top of the charts.
