Travis Tooke, former founding member of Sony/Epic recording artists For Squirrels and Subrosa will release his first solo CD on New Jersey-based Indigo Planet Records.
"Speaking both as a fan, and a label, I cannot begin to say how excited I am to be working with Travis," said label President Dave Kosciolek. "Many people, myself included, have been wondering about Travis the last eight years. I'm happy to say that he has never stopped writing music, and we are anxious for the world to hear it."
The CD, tentatively titled "Artichoke," is expected to be released in late 2007, and will include material written by Travis between 2002 and 2005. Pre-production has already begun on a 2nd solo CD, which will include songs written since 2006.
About Indigo Planet Records - Originally launched in 2005, IPR has worked with many local and regional artists, leading to commercial radio airplay and local music recognition awards.
About For Squirrels/Subrosa - For Squirrels signed with Sony Records in 1995. Weeks before the release of their major-label debut CD "Example," the band was driving home from NYC to Florida after an industry performance when their van blew a tire causing their vehicle to overturn, killing two band members and their tour manager. "Example" spawned the radio hit "Mighty K.C." The two surviving members regrouped under the name Subrosa, releasing one CD in 1997.
