Arts for the Arts Fundraiser and Art Auction set

Los Angeles Ballet celebrates its second season on the Southern California cultural landscape with its 2nd Annual Art for the Arts Fundraiser and Art Auction presented by Los Angeles magazine and Bergamot Station, with Anjelica Huston returning as chair The evening, taking place at 6:30pm on Thursday, November 8th at Bergamot Station will feature a special performance by The Los Angeles Ballet, with cuisine served from Los Angeles’ finest restaurants, including Amici Brentwood, Angelini Osteria, City Bakery, Divino, LA Farm, La Terza and The Nook. Additional sponsors include Volvic, Badoit and St. Germain.

A live fine art auction and a silent auction, both with online access beginning October 25, will feature works from renowned artists including Ed Ruscha, Ed Moses, John Baldessari, Lita Albuquerque, Charles Arnoldi, Larry Bell, Tony Berlant, Huguette Caland, Drew Dominick, Francesca Gabbiani, Jimi Gleason, Joe Goode, James Hayward, Joey Kotting, Rachel Lachowicz, Brad Spence, Kim McConnel , Dan McLeary, Eric Orr, Renee Petropoulos, Nancy Rubins, Jennifer Steinkamp, Sarah Ryan, Robert Wilhite and Robert Weingarten, with proceeds benefiting Los Angeles Ballet.

Los Angeles Ballet leaps into its second season on November 29th at Alex Theater in Glendale with their original production of The Nutcracker. Performances continue throughout November and December at Alex, UCLA’s Royce Hall and Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. Launched in 2006 by artistic directors Thordal Christensen and Colleen Neary, the Los Angeles Ballet made its exciting debut last year with The Nutcracker as the city’s own professional ballet company focused on capturing the creative aesthetic unique to Southern California. With a professional ballet presence in Los Angeles, the Company is building a large and diverse base of fans who are growing into devoted, supportive patrons.

The Company is a not-for-profit arts organization, with Julie Whittaker as the executive director.
