Tues. 10/9 DROP DEAD, GORGEOUS w/ Aiden & Still Remains at the El Rey

Mon. & Tues. 10/15 & 16 EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS w/ Black Francis at Safari Sam’s

Denver-based Drop Dead, Gorgeous is slaying stages and stereos across the land this summer with the intense, frenzied blend of post-hardcore, metal and emo found on their sophomore effort Worse Than a Fairy Tale. Released on August 14th on Suretone Records, the album is a conceptual tour de force detailing a serial killer’s reign of terror in the town of Saylor Lake. The dark, compelling rock opus is climbed up the charts with a debut on the Billboard Top 200 at #139, with sales in excess of 5000 according to Nielsen SoundScan. Additionally, the album entered the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseekers chart at #5.

Eastern Conference Champions (ECC), the up-and-coming rock trio that has been steadily building a buzz through endless touring and an instantly recognizable signature sound, has been chosen as the exclusive opening act for the west coast dates of alternative icon Black Francis’ upcoming tour. Kicking off October 1 in Portland, OR and continuing through a two-week, southbound trek ending in both acts’ adopted hometown of Los Angeles, ECC will join the Pixies frontman and enduring solo artist (aka Frank Black) for a series of intimate club dates and multi-night residencies. Eastern Conference Champions, featuring singer/guitarist Josh Ostrander, drummer Greg Lyons and uber-mustachioed bassist Vern Zaborowski, will take the stage with whip-tight, road-tested versions of songs featured on their recently released Suretone Records debut full-length, Ameritown.
