Roslyn to release solo album Oct. 24

Roslyn, Gospel singer extraordinaire, demands your attention, and once on stage, she gets it! Roslyn has boldly ushered in her solo album entitled YET DREAMING, released by independent label Cherysh Records. With the national release date set for October 24,2007, this work promises to take you on somewhat of a journey - a journey filled with deep, soulful, motivational songs that will move your very soul.
The first part motivates the listener to reminisce on old Gospel hymns (if you're old enough). The second part is motivational: Roslyn challenges her listeners to "keep believing" in God and themselves until their dreams become a reality. The last leg of her work is pure foot-stomping funk that may cause you to forget it's GOSPEL!
This Ohio native, who also happens to be an educator, is a former drug user who is very candid about her long struggle with cocaine addiction, and is effectively persuasive with troubled teens. She's been straight for 20 years now and talks openly to live audiences about her past.
Roslyn's deep contralto voice, which has been compared to "a force of nature," has often been mistaken for a male tenor voice, but the more you listen ... the more convinced you become that this rich voice belongs to a powerful woman with formidable pipes like none other. After a live performance, you're hooked! She causes you to stand to your feet and wonder how you got there. She's powerful!
Roz, as she's sometimes called, boldly displays her song-writing endowments on the catchy Sunday Morning track that clearly paints a vivid picture of what Sunday mornings were like in her close-knit family as a child. "Yet Dreaming," the title track also penned by Roslyn, is a simple but powerful cut that tells how she's held on to her dreams in spite of adversities. Anyone who has ever felt like giving up will surely be rejuvenated. Another piece that should be celebrated is "Send The Praise Up," which opens with rapper C-Styles, which happens to be Roslyn's son.
For this anointed project, Roslyn has joined forces with rising producer Thr3efourteen of Mega Beat International, whose work is continuously displayed throughout the YET DREAMING project. No less important is Robert Johnson, arranger and chief musician, who collaborated with Roslyn to give her the ammunition needed to complete this venture.
Roslyn has been summoned across the entire United States, Canada, Germany, and Switzerland to sing the Gospel to thousands. Last year she toured Spain with the infamous pianist Bobby Floyd, an old college friend. She's also opened shows for world-renowned motivational speaker Les Brown, and was once a background singer for the former lead singer of the Temptations, Dennis Edwards. With such a full history, Roslyn doesn't stop there. She is currently a featured cast member in Otis Sallid's touring stage production GOSPEL!GOSPEL!GOSPEL! and she has been chosen to host Youngstown's newest Gospel music TV show entitled TESTIFY WITH ROSLYN!, produced by Lin Mar Strategies.
YET DREAMING is a "must-have" for your Gospel-Jazz library, and a CD that is certainly worthy of great honorable mention. After October 24, 2007 YET DREAMING can be purchased in stores near you or by contacting STL-Distribution at: http://www.stl-distribution.com.
