School of Rock to perform at Crash Mansion

Signaling the recent expansion of The Paul Green School of Rock–the premier performance-based after-school rock music program in the country–fifty talented teens and ‘tweens from three Southern California branches are coming together for a blowout concert at Crash Mansion L.A. on Saturday, October 27th from 6-10:00p.m. The kids, ages 7 to 17, will be performing rock favorites by AC/DC, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Ozzy Osbourne, in an all-ages concert that is perfect for families to enjoy together.
At the show, the talented teens from the Los Angeles area branches of School of Rock (SOR) will demonstrate their rock chops which they learned from an incredible talent pool of SOR music directors and teachers with diverse and extensive backgrounds.
Carl Restivo, music director of the Hollywood branch, tours as the bassist for Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party and has recorded, produced and written songs for artists including Patti LaBelle and Wyclef Jean. Tony Avalon, executive music director and guitar master at the Agoura Hills school, has performed with artists including Frank Valli and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Santa Monica’s music director Joe De Sa, has collaborated with artists including Desmond Child, Michael Brecker and Barry Manilow, as well as authoring two successful guitar books, 100 Ultimate Jazz Riffs for Guitar and Ultimate Latin Riffs.

The Paul Green School of Rock was founded in 1998 by Philadelphia guitarist Paul Green and currently has schools in 30 locations coast-to-coast including Del Mar, San Diego and San Francisco. The school is aggressively expanding and expects to open 70 branches by the end of 2008. Built on Green’s philosophy that the best way to learn to play music is by actually doing it, the School of Rock program supplements weekly private lessons with group band practice in a highly challenging yet supportive environment. About Paul Green School of Rock Music
The Paul Green School of Rock Music is the original performance-based rock music school in the country for students aged 7 to 17. Founded by Philadelphia guitarist Paul Green in 1998, the Paul Green School of Rock Music is the subject of the documentary Rock School, which debuted at Sundance in 2005, went to national release, and regularly airs on A&E. It also served as the apparent inspiration for the Jack Black hit comedy, School of Rock. Built on Green’s philosophy that the best way to learn to play music is by actually doing it, the School of Rock program supplements weekly private lessons with group band practice in a highly challenging yet supportive environment. Dedicated to connecting the musicians of tomorrow to the classics of yesterday (students learn by playing classic rock ranging from the Beatles and Cream to Zappa and Zeppelin), the Paul Green School of Rock Music (http://www.schoolofrock.com) has expanded to thirty branches, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Salt Lake City, Austin and St. Paul, with further expansion in the pipeline.
